About Cynthia Birney Memorial Plant Sale

Honoring Cynthia's Love for Plants
This site is in memory of Cynthia Birney who passed away in October 2024 and is honoring her love of plants and her spirit of generosity. It is a vehicle to find homes for the many plants in Cynthia's greenhouse. Proceeds from the Plant Sale will be split in support of
Ray of Hope Foundation
and
Hartshorn Habitat,
both organizations which Cynthia cared about and contributed to.

Supporting Local Sustainability
A portion of the proceeds from the plant sale will be going towards the Hartshorn habitat's ongoing mission to increase the environmental sustainability of the area and maintaining it's "Wildlife Habitat" Certification.
These efforts include planting and maintenance of native pollinating plants, such as black-eyed Susan, cone- flower, coreopsis, swamp milk-weed and others. These plants provide a food source to all of our pollinator insects such as bees and butterflies in addition to hummingbirds. Throughout the summer an added benefit is that these plants become a food source to our wintering birds.
We seek to continue to expand the educational component by adding informational signage in addition to other interactive educational elements throughout the Habitat, explaining the interconnected nature of our habitat.
